Stoves and fireplaces for Farnham’s older houses
Farnham anchors the western end of our patch, about thirty five minutes from the showroom, and it gives us the sort of work we most enjoy, older houses that deserve to be done properly.
Between the Georgian town houses, the cottages in the surrounding villages and the odd genuine inglenook, Farnham chimneys ask for more care than most. Old flues are often generous but rough, so we smoke test, line where lining is needed and size the stove to the room rather than to the hole, a stove that is too big for the space never gets run properly and sooting follows. Where a house is listed we work within what consent allows and keep the original features in place.
We survey for free, supply and fit wood burning and multi fuel stoves, restore and replace period surrounds, and sweep what we fit. The showroom in Send is a drive, but most Farnham customers find one visit to see the stoves burning settles the shortlist faster than a month of brochures.
