Same name, same village, same family values
Robert Wakeford opened Wakefords in 1984, and we've been fitting fires in the same part of Surrey ever since. Two generations on, we're still family-run, still working from our showroom in Send, near Woking, and still doing the job the way it should be done — properly, the first time.
Over 42 years, we've seen just about everything the local housing stock can throw at us — Victorian chimneys, sixties flues, and new builds with no chimney at all. That experience is the difference between a fire that's simply installed and one that's installed right: safe, efficient, and still a cherished centrepiece twenty years later.
We supply and fit wood burning and multi-fuel stoves, gas and electric fires, and fireplaces and surrounds in marble, limestone, timber and cast iron. And because we fit them, we service them too — so your fire has one trusted team behind it for the long run.
Crucially, the people who fit your fire are employed by us, not subcontracted. The person who quotes your job is the person who does it, and who you can call afterwards. It's a small thing that makes a big difference.
